Puzzle Notes is a mobile app project with Bloom Digital, an independent game company based in Toronto that focuses on narrative driven experiences. The project features a prototype for a casual puzzle game that lets players send meaningful messages through puzzles.

Design Goals

  • Create an easy to pick up puzzle builder where users can quickly design and iterate.

  • Design potential monetization strategies for the app.

  • Teach users the core game loop through proper game flow.

Responsibilities

Role: Game Designer

  • Design flowcharts and active wireframes to determine gameflow.

  • Create a customer journey map assessing the user actions from app discovery all the way to completing a level.

  • Collaborate with the technical lead in developing and optimizing the final prototypes.

  • Conduct playtest sessions, acquiring feedback regarding the overall user experience.
